What your undergarments say about your style

Clothes speak volumes about a person. They reflect your unique character and style. Surprisingly, many women never give any real thought to their undergarments. They require a serious discussion as there is much more to them. This area of fashion has been the topic of many talk shows in recent years. The focus has mainly been the dramatic effects of wearing the right brassiere. Countless women are destroying their ensembles with not only brassieres, but panties, all-in-ones, tights and stockings of an improper fit, unsuitable style or inappropriate color. Undergarments create the final fit and flow of your outfit. The proper underwear can change your appearance from "lumpy frump girl" or "who's that stick figure" to lean and sexy lady. If you wish to look your very best and become an attention attracting magnet, take time to look at what lies beneath your clothing.

Be aware that underwear follows fashion trends too. Fortunately for us, the mandatory corset, crinoline and girdle days are dead. Our fairy godmother has decreed "Ding Dong the Witches are Dead". Thank goodness for the end of those eras. All hail the "time of technology". Figure shaping or re-shaping undergarments have been created for the sole purpose of providing flattering definition and support for the female form with no sweat, pain or fainting involved.

The first area of concern with us and our admirers is our breasts. Whether they are big, small, non-existent or extremely relaxed, this body part is immediately noticed when we walk in a room. Your bra can single handedly determine whether you look fresh and put together or not. With a D cup size or larger, almost any size really, absolutely nothing, no flesh should be hanging over or out of that cup. The effect created is that you have 4 breasts (two on top and two on the bottom). This is so not attractive nor will it attract. It pushes up the fabric of your top garment making you look stocky and fat. No woman wants that.

With all that cleavage going on, don't add more drama to the equation. Avoid lacy, frilly and decorated bras. Your best friend is the correct size with under wire support. It lifts and projects your breasts defining your waist. Small or non-existent cleavage doesn't need to look as though it has major stock in a tissue company when wearing your bra. Don't wonder how to make them magically appear larger or maybe you should. Invest in a wonder bra. You will possess the power to increase the size with chicken fillets and the closeness or tightness of your cleavage with a drawstring. Saggy breasts require a bra that nicely lifts and separates. This can be found in the bra known as the balcony. There is always a great view from the balcony, a thinner looking waistline. Uncomfortable brassieres cutting into your flesh or twisting about because they are too big or too small are not the correct size. Your ensemble will look uncomfortable too. Whatever your size, remember to have a professional measure you to determine your right size.

Why the Bustle
Why the Bustle

| Lingerie, Fashion, Style,

Not enough can be said about wearing the right panties. Remember the statement about fashion trends? One to reconsider is the g-string. They are available in all sizes, but not everyone needs to wear one. It simply may not be flatting for you. If your bum is sagging, you have rumple booty (cellulite), saddle bags or large thighs, please reconsider this fashion statement. Do yourself and the community at large a favor and purchase some proper panties. A saggy bottom can easily be lifted to look like you are faithful to the gym with a good quality pair of contouring knickers. You've seen Bridgett Jones. They may not be the sexiest things around, but the overall effect on your look is well worth it. Cellulite can be controlled with spandex. That's right, spandex. It makes that round mound smooth and tight. For us shapely, curvy ladies, I now drop to my knees in reverence for Lycra. More hips, thighs and bum than the law allows, a bum-and-thigh panty with extra Lycra is sheer genius. Although we love our bikini briefs, they are not a great idea if you are curvy. Can we say panty lines galore? Not a very classy or sexy look.

For an ultimate smooth look, you can't go wrong with an all-in-one. It contours your body in a smooth seamless fashion in all the right places. A nylon-esque fabric is the best to keep any clothing you wear from clinging. What's underneath is left up to your admirers' imaginations.

Now that issues of proper fit and style have been addressed, what about color? The confusion of wearing smoking red, hot pink or some other eye-popping, jaw-dropping color under white or khaki clothing is very real. Why ladies, why? The rule is simple. Wear only flesh tone (your flesh tone) colored undergarments to create the right visual in your clothing. Exception to the rule is that you intend to be shocking.

As you can see, your undergarments style determines your outer garment style. If it is uncomfortable or too revealing, rethink it. You may have to spend a little extra, but you are worth it. Whatever flattering attention you are seeking to attract, body contouring, sleek and sexy comfort is the secret law to obey.
