Do these shorts make my legs look old?
Let's face it, there's nothing hotter than the shortest of shorts on legs that seem to go on forever. Well, maybe not forever. But at least the ankles are skinny, right? These shorts can be dressed up or down. Adorned with tights and sky-high heels, a cute kitten heel or a simple bare leg and flats. The trend is no doubt going to be red hot this spring but let's face it, it's not for everyone.
Can a woman of a certain age
pull off the look? Let's examine it. Women are taking care of their bodies today more so than ever. They're investing time at the gym, tanning salon (and even at the doc's office) in the hopes of warding off Mother Nature. We've all heard that 40 is the new 30. Even so, there are certain fashions that even the most tanned, toned legs should stay away from.
Just head to the nearest beach, pool or BBQ and you can see women in their 40's, 50's and even 60's donning the tiniest of shorts. Even celebrities well past the age of 35 are rocking the look. Cameron Diaz, Demi Moore and the queen of "short shorts" Pam Anderson.
There's no doubt these ladies can definitely pull off the trend. But, what about the rest of us? Unless you're sitting poolside, on a bike or taking a hike'this look is best suited for the young. And while there's nothing wrong with looking youthful this look is best suited in a non-recreational setting.
Have no fear, there's still plenty of options out there for the rest of us. The longer version known as the walking short is great, even with a bare leg. The look is classy, tailored and timeless. It can be dressed up with a blazer or a sweet blouse, or dressed down with a basic tee. Whatever you decide, super short or long'make sure you feel good about it. And when in doubt, always get a second opinion.
